Did You Know? : Focused vs. Other Inbox in Outlook
Hello all!
Welcome to the first
edition of the IT Department’s "Did You
Know?" series, where we have quick tips to help make everyday tools
work better for you!
Today’s Tip: Outlook’s Focused Inbox
What is it?
The Focused Inbox
feature in Outlook automatically sorts your email into two tabs:
- Focused: Important emails
from the people you interact with most.
- Other: Newsletters,
promotions, and other less urgent messages.
This helps you stay
focused on what matters without getting bogged down in clutter.
How to Turn It On or Off:
- Open Outlook.
- Click on the View tab at the
top.
- Select or deselect Show
Focused Inbox to toggle it on or off.
Once enabled, you’ll
see two tabs Focused and Other at the top of your inbox.
Pro Tip:
You can move emails
between tabs by right clicking the message and selecting "Move to
Focused" or "Move to Other".
Outlook will learn
your preferences over time!
Let us know if you
try it out or need help customizing your view.
